Atlantic Shores Christian Schools

Joseph Dennis Stainback — Joseph has been accepted at Liberty University and plans to major in Nursing. In high school he participated in soccer and football. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the International Thespian Society. At his church he served as children’s supervisor and he volunteered at Union Mission. He received the Christian Character award in soccer. Joseph currently has a 4.04 GPA.

Deep Creek High School

Tredarius Jamaal Williamson — Tredarius has been accepted at Christopher Newport University and plans to major in Secondary Education. In high school he participated in basketball and football. He is a member of the Student Council, the Yearbook staff, and Ruriteens. He served as vice-president of the Student Council and Secretary of Ruriteens. During his senior year he was named Most Valuable Player in football and was selected All-Conference in football for both offense and defense. He also serves as a vacation bible school teacher at his church. Tredarius currently has a 3.098 GPA.

Courtney Allison Nishnick — Courtney has been accepted at Old Dominion University and plans to pursue a career in psychiatry. In high school she participated in cheering, soccer, and track and field. She is a member of the National Honor Society, editor of the Yearbook, a class officer, 1st runner up at the Miss Deep Creek pageant, and active in her church. She was named an All District cheerleader, Most Valuable Player in soccer, and was a District qualifier for two years in track and field. Courtney currently has a 4.2117 GPA.

Grassfield High School

Quiana Deshea Moss — Quiana has been accepted at Virginia Commonwealth University. In high school she participated in volleyball and basketball. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Social Studies Honor Society, Key Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. She was named All Conference in volleyball and Most Valuable Player and team captain in both volleyball and basketball. She worked with the March of Dimes, mentored middle school students, and is a 4 time recipient of the Virginia High School League Academic Excellence Award. Quiana currently has a 4.13 GPA.

Wayne Allen Hammes Jr. — Wayne has been accepted and plans to attend either Old Dominion University or James Madison University and major in physical therapy. In high school he participated in football and basketball. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the school orchestra, Future Business Leaders of America, and the National Social Studies Honor Society. He received the Virginia High School League Academic Excellence Award and served as a volunteer for the Salvation Army, Autumn Care Rehabilitation Facility, SPCA, and Samaritan’s Purse. Wayne currently has a 4.09 GPA.

Great Bridge High School

Vaughn de laPena Whitehurst — Vaughn has been accepted at Virginia Commonwealth University and plans to major in Computer Science. In high school he participated in football and was selected 2nd team all Conference, and team captain. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Vaughn currently has a 4.2752 GPA.

Greenbrier Christian Academy

Rachel M. Owens — Rachel has been accepted at James Madison University. In high school she participated in soccer and track and field. She was selected Captain of the Track team and in the Conference meet placed third in the 100 meter hurdles.She is active in her church and in addition to participating in sports she also works at a local fast food restaurant after school and on weekends. Rachel currently has a 4.10 GPA.

Hickory High School

Zachary Martin York — Zachary has been accepted into the Honors program at Radford University and he plans to major in Biology. In high school he participated in baseball and was selected 2nd team All District during his junior year, and team captain during his senior year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, Magnus Fraternus, Young Life, and serves as a volunteer for Special Olympics. He is also the recipient of a baseball scholarship from Radford. Zachary currently has a 4.2883 GPA.

Indian River High School

Emmy Miranda Hamed — Emmy has been accepted at George Mason University where she plans to begin her preparation for a career in Law. In high school she participated in tennis. She is a member of the Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Invisible Children, and Class Council. She also volunteers at the Virginia Beach Aquarium and works after school and on week-ends at Plato’s Closet. Emmy currently has a 3.637 GPA.

Allison Mary Runger — Allison has been accepted at James Madison University and plans to major in Nursing. In high school she participated in gymnastics and field hockey. She was selected captain of her field hockey team during both her junior and senior years, and 1st team All Conference and Most Valuable Player during her senior year. She is a member of the Tri-Hi-Y, Class Council, and Future Business Leaders of America. She served as President and Regional Treasurer for Future Business Leaders for two years. Allison currently has a 3.9117 GPA.

Oscar Smith High School

Natasha Elise Halloran — Natasha has been accepted at the University of Virginia where she plans to begin her preparation for a career in Law. In high school, she participated in cheerleading. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, the Science and Math National Honor Society, the YMCA Leadership Club, and is a three year recipient of the Scholastic Achievement Award. She served as class president for both her sophomore and senior years and is a volunteer at the Greenbrier YMCA. Allison is enrolled in the IB program and currently has a 4.5995 GPA.

Western Branch High School

Isabella H. Kim — Isabella has been accepted at Virginia Tech and plans to begin preparation for a career in Medicine. In high school she participated in volleyball. During her senior year she was named Team Captain and was selected All District, All Conference, and Most Valuable Player. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the school orchestra, and the Chesapeake Leadership Institute, and serves as a volunteer at Kings Daughters Hospital. She also works after school and on week-ends. Isabella currently has a 4.375 GPA.
