Admirals alum Dennis McEwen was our March 11th Luncheon Speaker. Dennis McEwen, or “Q”, was born in Elliot Lake, Ontario but now claims Chesapeake as home. McEwen attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario before being signed by the Admirals in 1989. One of first players to hit the ice at Scope in 1989, McEwen is known as “The Original Admiral”. He played on the team between 1989 and 1998 and ranks high on every statistical list for offense in the Admirals history.
McEwen stayed in the Hampton Roads area after playing, where he remained involved with the game before being hired as the Admirals Corporate Sales Manager in May 2007. As the Corporate Sales Manager McEwen’s responsibilities include corporate sales, corporate relations, game day affairs, graphic design as well as promotional work. McEwen claims the Admirals and the New York Rangers as his favorite sports teams, but is otherwise a fan of all sports and teams.
