Atlantic Shores Christian Schools
Austin Scott Lewis — Austin has been accepted at Virginia Wesleyan College and is currently undecided on his major. In high school he participated in Baseball and in 2011 was named “most improved player”. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was named as “Most Outstanding” student in several of his classes. He volunteers at his church and through a youth baseball program. Austin currently has a 4.15 GPA.
Deep Creek High School
I-Asia Williams — I-Asia has been accepted at Norfolk State University and plans to major in Criminal Justice. In high school she was a both a JV and Varsity cheerleader, and played JV and Varsity soccer. She was recognized for her efforts in soccer by being named the “hardest worker” by her coach and team, and was selected as “best all-around” cheerleader on the varsity cheer squad. She also is a member of the Students Against Drunk Driving club and the chess club. I-Asia currently has a 2.68 GPA.
Grassfield High School
Victoria Lynn Parish — Victoria has been accepted into the Honor’s Program at James Madison University and plans to major in Athletic Training and Physical therapy. In high school she was a member of the field hockey team, swim and dive team, and varsity track. She was honored by our club earlier this year by being recognized as Field Hockey Player of the year. In Field Hockey she made 1st team all district and 2 team all Eastern region. She also received the Virginia High School League Academic Award. She is a member of the Student Council Association, National Honor Society, and the Anchor Club. Victoria currently has a 4.43 GPA.
Great Bridge High School
Ashley Lynn Morefield — Ashley has been accepted at the University of Virginia and plans to major in pre-med with a career goal in Nuclear Medicine. In high school she was a member of the varsity gymnastics and tennis teams, and a member of the Indoor Color Guard. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Chesapeake Council on Youth Services. She is an AP Scholar and a recipient of the Virginia High School Academic Excellence Award. She also is a member of the Anchor Club, and has performed community service with the Salvation Army, Adopt-A-Family, homeless shelters, and tutoring. Ashley currently has a 4.594 GPA.
Greenbrier Christian Academy
Kasey Suzanne Bryan – Kasey has been accepted at Liberty University and plans to major in pre-med and become an emergency room doctor. In high school Kasey participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer. In volleyball, she was named best defensive player in 2011 and best offensive player in 2010. She is on the schools’ Yearbook staff and is a candidate for the National Honor Society. She is active in community service with union missions. Kasey currently has a 3.99 GPA.
Hickory High School
Timothy Gerard Breslin, Jr. — Timothy has been accepted at Jefferson College of Health Sciences and plans to major in Emergency Services with a career goal in Paraniedic and Emergency Management. In high school he was a four year member of the football team and received a Sportsmanship Award during his senior year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society. Upon graduation in June, he will earn his EMT-B certification, a prerequisite to becoming a paramedic. He is involved in community work with his church. Timothy currently has a 3.946 GPA.
Indian River High School
Melinda Ann Runger — Melinda has been accepted at Virginia Tech and plans to major in pre-med and hopes to become a pediatrician. In high school she participated in gymnastics, field hockey and tennis. She was named Captain of the field hockey team during her senior year. She is a member and officer of the National Honor Society, Tri Hi Y, National English Honor Society, and Future Business Leaders of America. She is a recipient of the Virginian Pilot Scholastic Achievement Award and the William and Mary Leadership Award. Melinda currently has a 4.28 GPA.
Oscar Smith High School
Amanda Leigh Porter —Amanda has been accepted at ODU, VCU, and JMU. Whichever school she selects, she plans to major in Nursing. In high school she participated in field hockey and soccer. She was selected Captain of the Field Hockey team her senior year. Amanda is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program and is an IB candidate. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Girl Scouts. She is a volunteer with the city library, assists with the Food Bank, the SPCA, and the homeless. Amanda currently has a 4.08 GPA.
Western Branch High School
Haley Madison Goins — Haley has been accepted at Radford University and plans to major in Graphics Design. In high school she participated in Softball. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council Association, the Service Club, and the school orchestra. She serves as a volunteer with her church to work with the homeless. Haley currently has a 4.11 GPA.
