1. Drafted during the early 60’s by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Chesapeake’s Crestwood High School at age 17.

2. Spent first spring training in Scottsdale, AZ with some of baseball’s icons: Willie Mayes, Rusty Staub, Hank Aaron, Curt Flood, Ernie Banks.

3. Only the 2nd African-American to be drafted as a pitcher by the Boston Red Sox where he played alongside some of their greats: Carl Yazstrzemski, George Scott, Rico Petrocelli, Reggie Smith, and his catcher at the time, Carlton (“Pudge”) Fisk.

4. Drafted by the U.S. Army at the height of his career — taken to the airport and consoled (for more than an hour) by TED WILLIAMS, who had endured the same fate during the Korean War.

5. Author (“My Brother’s Keeper — Not My Brother’s Killer”) and Missions Pastor (Body of Christ Community Church) — has traveled to dozens of countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa to share his message of RECONCILIATION to audiences of every persuasion.
