April 10th Luncheon Speaker

Monica Christiansen

Deputy Director of Chesapeake’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism

And Proud Mom of

Kansas City Chief Superbowl Champion Player Cole Christiansen

Monica Christiansen is the Deputy Director for the City of Chesapeake, Department of Parks,
Recreation and Tourism responsible for the 90+ Chesapeake Parks and the Conference Center.
Monica is the proud mother of NFL player Cole Christiansen, who just wrapped up this season
as a member of the Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs!
Monica will be sharing some “behind the scenes” Super Bowl experiences from the perspective
of a mother of a player. She will share what it was like to stay at the team resort, special events
during the weekend for families and friends, game day and post win celebrations as well as the
championship parade and after parties for the team in Kansas City, including the ring sizing. She
will share some show and tell items from the journey as well as a power point presentation with
pictures from Super Bowl LVII.
Cole was a 2016 graduate of Nansemond Suffolk Academy and a 2020 graduate of the United
States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, where he was a two-time team captain. His
journey to the NFL is definitely unique, especially coming from a military school. He signed as a
free agent out of college with the Los Angeles Chargers and was with them for the 2020 and
2021 seasons before being picked up by the Chiefs just before the start of the 2022 season. Cole
is signed to play for the Chiefs again in 2023.

Legend of Honor will be Tommy McMillan
